Levante vs Villareal

23/3- Levante have showed some grit in their performances in the past few weeks but their chances of staying in the top league of La liga are as good as nonexistent. This weekend they would play hosts to the team placed on the third spot of the points table, Villareal. While Villareal has been one of the best performing teams and they also are in prime form, the home team is by far the worst team in terms of the performance this season and their form has not been that great that they moght pose a challenge to the better teams like Villareal. The last time both these teams had faced each other was earlier this season and villareal had managed an easy 3-0 home victory. Also while Villareal have won 6 of the last 10 matches with 3 draws and one loss, Levante have been able to manage only 3 victories with 5 losses and 2 draws. The home crowd may not be that big an advantage for the struggling Levante that would help them overcome Villareal.

Villareal have reached a stage where they are just a couple of points behind second placed Barcelona and the fluctuating form Barca has showed over the last few weeks could also lead to Villareal taking over the second spot on the table. Villareal come fresh from a 2-0 home win against Real Zaragoza and that would have lifted their confidence further as well and a chance to reach the top two in the league is a good enough incentive for the team to get inspired and perform. They would like to score the entire three points and anything less would be a disappointment.

Levante on the other hand can just hope and try to stretch Villareal to an extent and hold them for a draw but even that does not look realistic.

Athletico Madrid vs Levante

16/3- Athletico Madrid are currently placed on the 4^th position on the points table and they would be eager to get back to form as some disappointing performances in the recent few weeks has put them 6 points behind the third placed Villareal. This week however they have a good chance to score a full three points as they get prepared to take on Levante at home. Levante are currently at the bottom of the La liga table and their performance away from home can be described in one word- disastrous. They have only managed a single victory away from home and a tough opponent like Athletico Madrid would not allow them to get away. The last match between the two sides that was played earlier this season resulted in a 0-1 win for Athletico Madrid playing away from home. The head to head record for the past 15 years also works in favour of Athletico as they have managed to win 3 of the 5 matches played between the sides.

Athletico Madrid go into this match to regain their form and there would be no other way rather than having the home crowd inspire them to a huge team again a comparatively weak opponent. Also this is a great chance for them to cut down on the lead that Villareal have developed. The last match they played was against Real Zaragoza and they lost the away tie 2-1 and after that they would want to ensure that they at least do not lose points at home.

Levante on the other hand have just pride to play for and in the last few matches they have been able to come up with some good performances and they would try and settle for a draw and take home at least a point from the match and they might be able to do it if they actually can put in their best efforts.

Sevilla vs Levante

9/3- Sevilla are placed seventh on the points table and look to be in good for, this week they get ready to take on the team at the bottom of the table. Levante. Sevilla have managed to keep up pace with the other teams in the top half of the table and would expect to score all the three points in this home tie against an opponent like Levante. They would like to get a big win under their belt so that they cannot only challenge the team above them but also ensure that they can continue the climb upwards. Sevilla would be quite confident about their chances as they have already defeated Levante earlier this season in an away tie. Also another encouraging fact for the home side is that in the five matches played between both the sides in the last 15 years Sevilla have managed to win all. With the home crowd supporting them the home team look set to continue their dominance over the comparatively lesser opponent. Sevilla are on a high after they were able to win their Champions League tie while playing at home last week and also the last match they played at home they were able to blank out Real Zaragoza with a 5-0 score line. With Fabiano in their side the home team also has the ability to score at will and the able support of kanoute would serve as the icing on the cake. Levante on the other hand have been impressive in the past few weeks and have gathered more points in the last 6 matches as compared to the rest of the season. Though their survival in the top league this year looks a distant dream a good performance can help them win many hearts and hold their heads high. Prediction: 2-0, Sevilla win.

Levante vs Real Zaragoza

3/2- Levante have not been a team of much substance this season but in the last few games they have managed to salvage some pride and more importantly they have managed to get some points as well. This week they play hosts to Real Zaragoza and would be hoping to get some points from this match as well. Real Zaragoza are better off than Levante in terms of their position but their form has been a huge concern as well and are out of the relegation zone just on the basis of a better goal difference. The last time both these teams faced each other, Real Zaragoza won convincingly with a 3-0 score line while playing at home. But away from home Real Zaragoza have won just a single match and in current form they do not look as convincing to win another. The overall record also suggests that Real Zaragoza has an advantage as they have won 2 matches of the 5 played while 3 have been draws.
Though Levante lost their last match with a 5-1 score against Barcelona, they cannot said to be totally out of form as they have not been able to perform away from home. However their form at home has been decent and their win against Osasuna a couple of weeks ago would have increased the side’s confidence playing at home.
Real Zaragoza on the other hand would be very low on confidence as they have lost three matches in a row and now would be hoping to change that in the match against the weakest team in the competition. The visiting side would try and get at least a point of this match as a loss here could possibly hand them an entry into the relegation zone, something no team would want.

Barcelona vs Levante

24/2- Just when it appeared that Real Madrid would run away with the title they are going through a slip against weaker oppositions and the second placed Barcelona is trying to make the most out of this small opening provided and get back in a position to challenge the leaders. This week they play hosts to the team lying on the 20^th position on the points table, Levante. Barcelona have just lost a single match at home this season and they would be expected to register a comfortable victory when they take on Levante but they would have to be just a little careful with their approach as a laid back approach could prove expensive to them as it did last week for Osasuna who were beaten by Levante 2-1. Barcelona have not lost a single match to Levante in the last 15 years and even when they met earlier this season Barcelona had won 1-4 in an away tie. With just 5 points separating them from the leaders Barca would go for the kill and make the most of this given opportunity.

Barcelona come into the match after they defeated Real Zaragoza 1-2 in a away tie last week and since Real Madrid lost to a lowly ranked Real Betis their confidence would have shot even higher. A lot more goals can be expected with Messi, Henry and Ronaldinho playing for the side. Barca would be hoping to get a full three points and anything less would be highly disappointing.

Levante on the other hand have proven that they cannot be taken lightly and have the quality to play in the top division but they would have to produce such performances on a consistent basis. Though their chances of escaping relegation are fairly slim they can at least give in their best efforts.

Levante vs Osasuna

17/2- Levante have been fighting all season to get out of the relegation zone but at this stage it appears that all their efforts have gone down the drains they get ready to take another team that is still struggling to keep out of the relegation zone, Osasuna. While Levante have been on the last spot for long now and their relegation is almost certain but Osasuna still have a good amount of time to move ahead. Osasuna have played well but have been highly inconsistent and come into the match after they registered a victory last week playing against Real Zaragoza. Earlier this season when both the teams faced off Osasuna, playing at home, were victorious with a 4-1 margin but their overall record has been fairly equal as Levante have won 2 of the 5 matches while Osasuna have won the remaining 3.

Levante would have the home advantage as well as they would have nothing to lose and hence can play fearless football. Their form has never looked impressive throughout the season and in the last 10 matches the club has played they have won just once and have lost on 6 occasions. Riga and Rigano have been the only players from the side who have made some impact at the top level but other than them there has been nothing worth mention. They would be hoping to get a victory at home and even the record against Osasuna.

On the other side Osasuna cannot get an easier opponent than Levante, it is their golden chance to get three points and ensure a place in laliga for the next year. They have won 3 of their last 10 matches while lost 5 but here they cannot afford to drop any point. Gomes Dady has been their best striker and the fans would be hoping that he would fire this time and get the team out of the spot of bother they are currently in.

Prediction: 0-1, Osasuna win

Athletic Bilbao vs Levante

10/2- Athletic Club Bilbao is going through a rough phase and are placed at the 15^th spot on the points table and after two losses in the last three matches and now they are just out of the relegation zone due to a better goal difference. Now, this week they get a golden opportunity in order to get back on track when they take on the last placed Levante. Levante have been struggling for most of the season and have been able to gain some momentum only in recent matches. The last time both the teams played was earlier this season when Athletic Bilbao visited Levante and they won 2-1, this win would give the home team an edge over the visitors. When the history between the two teams is seen it is evident that Athletic Bilbao are the dominant side as they have won 3 of the 5 matches played between the two sides in the past 15  years with one match ending in a draw.

Athletic Bilbao would be hoping that the home crowd would inspire the players to bring out the best performances so that the club can possibly avoid the threat of being relegated. Their last match against Real Zaragoza ended as a loss and they would like to recover from that with a full three points from the match against the weakest team playing at home. Adruiz is the best scoring option for the home side and is the leading goal scorer for the side this season with a total of 4 goals to his credit.

Levante on the other hand would try and collect as many points as possible from the matches in the top league as they can carry the confidence with them. Riga and Rigano are two players who have got themselves noticed from an otherwise non performing side and may get transfer offers from teams in the top flight.

Prediction: 2-0, Athletic Bilbao win

Levante vs Racing Santander

3/2- Levante are a team that has been practically ousted of the top division in Laliga and their performance has been highly criticised this season but the last week seemed to be magical for them. After a long time they did get a victory registered to their name with a 2-3 score line playing away from home they defeated Murcia. Racing Santander on the other hand have been a quite stable team in Laliga and have spent most of the season in the top half and are currently placed sixth on the points table. Their last home ended in a draw as Real Zaragoza help them for a 2-2 draw last week, Racing Santander would be even more disappointed as that was a home tie and they would have preferred to get all the points form that one. In their previous encounter this season while playing against Racing Santander at their home ground Levante had to return empty handed after a 1-0 loss.

Levante though have won their last match have been showing a miserable form as they have lost 6 of the last 10 matches while 2 have been the number of wins and draws. Also they have hardly scored goals and the entire team has just 16 goals for the team in 21 matches, which is the worst for a team in Laliga this season. Rigano and Riga are the two players to look out for from the home side and while the crowd will be there for their players and the club interesting things can develop in terms of the match result.

Racing Santander on the other side have won 5 of their last 10 matches and would be looking for an outright big margin win, their performance this season in terms of making goals has not been that great but as a team they have done well.

Murcia vs Levante

27/1- In a battle of the relegation zone Murcia take on last placed Levante. While playing at home Murcia hold a certain advantage over their rivals as their opponents have not won a match playing away from home this season. Also Levante have been virtually played out of the top league, Murcia can still survive as they are in the relegation zone only due to the goal difference. Murcia come to this match after they were thrashed 3-0 by real Zaragoza last week while Levante come here after they managed to hold Mallorca for a draw last week in a home tie. These two sides have only played each other once before and the match ended in a draw. Levante would be playing for their pride as they have been isolated from the other teams in terms of their performance already. Murcia would hope that while playing at home they can get all the points from this match, especially in a match against Levante. A full three points from this tie could mean a leap in the points table and a comparatively safer position. Baiano has already scored 5 goals this season and a lot would be expected from them but the absence of Ruiz and Pignol from their defense could mean a lot as they have giving quite a few goals away lately. Levante would be travelling once again this season, they look like a team that has been shocked to find itself in the top league because their performances appeared to be below par in almost all games. They could have put a bit more application in their game plans but now it seems all too late, anyway they can still do something if they can probably revive the lost pride in the second half of the season. Prediction: Murcia win, 1-0

Levante vs Mallorca

20/1- There are two teams in Laliga that separate themselves from the rest in their very own way, while one is at the top of the table the other is at the extreme end. Levante, unfortunately, is on the wrong end of the table. The team has been in practically no form since the commencement of the season and the things do not appear to be changing. They have lost 4 of their last 5 matches with the one remaining being a draw. They look to be out of the top division already and would need only a miracle to pull them out of the place they are in as of now. Mallorca have been in no great form as well and their visit to Levante might help them to capitalise and gain some points. Placed at the 13^th spot the team is a mere 3 points above the relegation zone and their recent performances have not been strong either, with a record of 3 loses and 2 draws in the last 5 matches they seem to be no better than Levante but this visit would be different as the host team is mentally out of the league already.

Levante come into this match after the 2-0 loss against league leaders Real Madrid last week, Rigano has been their inform player and has managed to score 4 goals this season. More than scoring Levante would have to defend out the threat from the opposition which they have failed to all this season. On the other hand a win for Mallorca would see them climbing the ladder and reach a safer position that would possibly keep them away from the relegation zone. Guiza could be the player to watch out from Mallorca and anything less than 3 points would be disappointing for them.
