Manchester City vs Arsenal

February 2, 2008

2/2- Manchester City have played well this season but all of a sudden things seem to be changing for the team as they have managed just 2 wins in the last 10 matches and the last 3 matches have just generated a couple of points courtesy of draws against Derby and West Ham United, two of the most struggling teams in the premiership this season, they prepare to take on the second placed Arsenal at home this week end. Arsenal would be travelling to Manchester with two back to back victories as well as a 1-0 victory over the same side earlier this season when City were playing quite well. While Arsenal is fighting for the championship at the top City are trying to maintain the chance of qualifying for the European championships next year. The fact that would dominate the match is that City have not lost a single match at home and if Arsenal cannot win they might lose out to Manchester United if the latter manage to win.
Arsenal would be hoping to see that the form of key players is intact; Adebayor is a force at the front. Arsenal demolished Newcastle playing at home last week and with 16 and 7 goals the combination of Adebayor and Fabregas would be threatening to score. Rosicky might miss the match due to the hamstring and Arsenal might miss his contribution in the mid field. They would like to make it 3 wins in a row and a win against Manchester City would also do a world of good to their confidence as well.
Manchester City on the other hand would not like their 100% non loss record at home to be spoilt and the home fans would expect Blumer and Bianchi to fire.
Prediction: 1-2, Arsenal win
