Arsenal vs Birmingham
January 12, 2008
12/1- The Gunners are on an all time high and are playing some extensively competitive football this season. The team has looked focused and that is what has made them the top team in the English Premier League this season. It is on the top slot and would be playing hosts to the 16th placed Birmingham. Arsenal has looked in the dominant best in the past five matches and the results show that they won 4 while just one was drawn. They would go into this home encounter with high ounces of confidence especially after their convincing 2-0 home win against West Ham last week. They would be happy with the fact that they have built a 2 point gap between themselves and the second placed Man U. Birmingham on the other hand have just won 1 of their last 5 matches which tells their form and story this season. Their last match against Man U was a lost affair but Birmingham managed to keep some pride in a 1-0 defeat.
The home supporters would be hoping to see their team magic once again with Abedayor and Fabregas combining exceedingly well at the front side the Gunners always threaten to score a goal. There have also been rumours that the young Luke Freeman from a division one club is being looked upon by the authorities of the club. Arsene Wenger would like to see his troop commanding and marching out victoriously. Anything less than 3 points would be a huge loss to the club.
Birmingham on the other hand looks to be a side that is depleted and would be looking for some motivation. Kapo has been their most relied goal scoring source and the travelling fans would be hoping that he or any one of the team can at least provide a point from the game.
Prediction: 3-1, Arsenal win
